The problem with bigger hard disks is that you lose the
track of what you have stored and where so you end up making multiple copies of
same file and store them in different partitions. You do your best to keep your
data sorted and well organized so you don’t have to rush in the last minute to
find where you stored what.
After trying my level best I was quite sure that I have
completely sorted my whole hard disk but I fell on earth or reality struck me
like a lightning bolt when I found that I have more than 2000 files unsorted or
duplicated and it comprises 15 GB of my hard disk. I used software a friend of
mine suggest, Duplicate Finder.
Duplicate Finder is a freeware that will find all the copies
or cloned files in your hard disk and remove them which will in turn boost your
PC like anything. It finds every single copy of the file in the whole hard
disk. It cleans up your space and reduces the time for antivirus scan as less
files to be scanned as well as reduces the defragmentation time drastically. So
even though it is not sorting for you but it is helping in achieving it, a feat
that is really needed for proper functioning of PC.
The best part of using this software is that it detects
every file format be it a doc, or an image or a movie or a mp3 or anything. It
uses highly efficient algorithms that help it to detect and filter thefiles and
that too in very less time. These detected and filtered files are removed as if
it was junk, which is is. This software uses the copying and moving or deleting
actions so efficiently that it makes it full automatic user friendly software.
The good thing that felt using this software was that I was
able to free up 15 GBs of my hard disk’s space as well as I came to know which
files I copied twice for backing up and which I copied by mistake, so it also
detected the complete backup of my files and now I can efficiently use the
freed space and know which files have been backed up.
The most important thing about this software is that it is
compatible with Windows NT 4.0, 2K, XP, Vista, and Windows 7. So enjoy using
it.
